Our Story

Our passion for food and flavour runs deep. Long before Yaab Burgers was ever an idea, berbere was already a staple in our kitchen. Some of our earliest memories are of mixing it with lime to create a bold, punchy paste — simple, intense, and unforgettable. That curiosity for flavour became the foundation of everything we do.

Our food is shaped by a mixed-heritage background and years of travelling, tasting food across the globe and learning how different cultures use spice, balance, and heat. We’re drawn to flavours that stand out — ones that feel familiar, yet slightly provocative.

What started as a side project between brothers, cooking burgers for family and friends, slowly became something bigger. Those early sessions in the kitchen were about more than food — they were about sharing ideas, pushing flavours, and seeing how far we could take something simple.

That spirit led to the berbere burger and eventually Yaab Burgers: a modern take on the flavours we grew up with. Crisp fried chicken, proper burgers, spice-forward sauces, soft buns, sharp pickles and punchy condiments — all built to carry that flavour story forward.

The name “Yaab” captures a feeling of astonishment and surprise — that moment when something tastes better than you expected. That’s exactly how we want people to feel when they take their first bite: a little caught off guard, in the best possible way.

Today, Yaab Burgers is a small team with big flavours. We’re rooted in heritage, driven by creativity, and shaped by every service we do. Every pop-up is another chance to share our story — one burger, one box of fried chicken, and one “I need that again” moment at a time.
